Can I webify my business or idea

The short answer is yes! Whatever it is you want to do (within the laws of physics) can most likely be done. There is, however, a catch. Just because an idea is technically possible doesn't mean it is feasible.

There are a number (to be more precise, 3) of limitations that can turn a possible idea into an unfeasable one. They are:

  • - cost
  • - time
  • - effort

Developing a website is an intricate trade off between these three resources. Being aware of them is important as it can help you correctly prioritize your work. For example, don't waste days and weeks adding a feature that isn't essential or won't add proportionate value.

There's an interesting rule of thumb that has developed over the years and that is:

80% of a project can generally be completed with 20% of the work.

In other words, you should be able to get the vast majority of the website done with minimal effort - often because much of what you need has already been created and is available in one form or another.

The lesson here is that, even if your business idea is wholly unique and new, it is likely that site prebuilder can get you 80% of the way to the finish line in a matter of minutes - even if you then have to take the prebuilt site to a specialist developer to complete.
