Engage and convert traffic using polls
Getting online traffic to sit up and take action (convert in some way or another) can be really difficult to achieve consistently. One of the best ways to get readers to invest their time in your content, as opposed to flitting off to the next webpage that catches their eye, is to really engage their attention by introducing some interactivity.
Getting Internet users to do more than read your content is a bit of an art - made easier through the use of polls. A poll is a great way to encourage participation in your content because the reader gets to compare their opinions with the prevailing sentiment by comparing their vote to the overall results.
A poll is also a very natural part of content and language - we asks questions all the time. It fits nicely into virtually any type of content you can imagine. Regardless of whether you are selling lawnmowers through an affiliate site, or euro-fighters, a poll can stimulate interest and debate in your content.
Not only that but you end up with some marketing intelligence (from the results of the poll) that you can put to good use in further marketing or content based initiatives. In other words, engaging readers with polls not only increases their level of participation, it can act as marketing intelligence too.
Which is the easiest factor in Internet marketing to get right?
Here's an example of a marketing related poll created in a couple of minutes using the design-a-webpage.com instant landing page designer:
The question posed is designed to get readers to think about many of the aspects required for a modern, Internet based marketing campaign. Answer the poll. Can you spot how it has been set up to convert readers?
The answer is that, regardless of your initial selection, the poll page makes the point that:

Conversion advantages of polls
Instead of having to write highly tuned, well considered content that may or may not have been able to convince readers to convert (by clicking the link to design-a-webpage.com), a poll works by quickly catching attention, encouraging a simple action (voting) that then leads to a conversion.
Instead of reading paragraphs of content, the reader need only read a single question and provide an answer. They are now more invested in the result because they have given of their time by answering the poll. As a result, they are more likely to read the lead capture paragraph because it pertains directly to the action they have just taken.
Neat, huh? With one question, a lead capture paragraph and a conversion link, this poll landing page can prove far more effective at converting readers than static content. What's more, there will be some interesting marketing related information captured by the poll over time, and this in itself could be used to create more landing pages.
Try it out for yourself. There's a free, one week trial at design-a-webpage.com that will allow you to create high converting, new polls in minutes.
